We did it. We won.

With no Republican candidate filed to run, winning the Democratic Primary last night means that I am honored to be chosen as your next State Representative for House District 46. I will be the first ever Vietnamese-American legislator and the first Asian American to represent the Jade District. But this seat belongs to all of us, not me alone. We are United for a Better Oregon!

It took so many volunteers to make this campaign a success. Thank you to those who made more than 39,000 phone calls to voters, sent 13,000 texts, shared thousands of times on social media, and who had lawn signs and posters up supporting the campaign. To every person who contributed to help us send mailers and place digital ads: thank you for believing in me. You trusted me with your money, your time, and your votes. I take that seriously, and I will remain accountable to you as your neighbor, a member of this community, and as your legislator.

Today, I’m celebrating all we achieved together. Tomorrow, I will turn toward the November election, and the legislative sessions ahead. This district has been solidly Democratic for a decade, and I intend to keep House District 46 blue for the years to come. But we’re also going to turn this district green, when we fight for an Oregon Green New Deal, green jobs, and the green infrastructure our communities need to weather the climate crisis. We’re going to make HD 46 Red for Ed, when we fight for teachers and other union workers and against austerity politics and budget cuts that hurt hard working families and children. We’re going to turn this district every color of the rainbow when we fight for our diverse communities – LGBTQ+, our immigrants and refugees, women, seniors, the unhoused and the unheard. Together, with the people who support this campaign, we will be a movement in Salem with the power to ensure our state keeps its promises, and invests in a recovery rooted in justice for everyone.

With the courage to imagine and come together, another Oregon is possible. I look forward to continuing this journey with all of you by my side.

Thank you,

Khanh Pham
Democratic Nominee for Representative – Oregon House District 46
